This year, they had chosen to focus on the vibrant culture, rich traditions and delicious cuisine of the Philippines. The students parentsโ prepared a diverse range of Filipino delicacies including biko, adobo, coconut candies, chips, snacks, pancit, and more. The response by the visitors was very positive, and all the proceeds collected will be donated to a local charity.
The students also showcased the beauty of the Philippines with their turtle collage art created from recycled materials. It served as a reminder of the importance of marine conservation in the Philippines and the necessity of protecting these incredible creatures and their habitats.
Furthermore, the students organized a mini-recycling station where visitors had the opportunity to learn how to make recycled paper from scratch. Another team set up a fun activity matching common Filipino phrases with their English translations.
As part of its cultural diplomacy efforts, the Philippine Embassy supported the event by featuring Filipiniana items, native decors, and notable Philippine destinations.
