GLOBAL TRAVEL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (GTBA) AND TOURISM MALAYSIA HOLD PHILIPPINE TOURISM ROADSHOW
Kuala Lumpur, 02 March 2025 – The Global Travel Business Association (GTBA) in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia held the 6th Global Travel Exchange and Roadshow on 20 February 2025 at the Royal Signature Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The Roadshow was led by GTBA President Michelle Taylan and Mayor Frolibar Bautista of Malay, Aklan. 34 tours and hotel providers from the Philippines participated in the roadshow. They were able to engage with over 150 tourism industry players from the Malaysia, India, and other countries.
The event was followed by a B2B Roadshow Appreciation Night, highlighted by the signing between GTBA and Tourism Malaysia of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that further solidifies their existing tourism cooperation and exchanges, and paves the way for future engagements.
In his keynote remarks, Consul General Reyes congratulated the delegates and expressed the Embassy’s support for the Roadshow. He highlighted the vital role of such initiatives in fostering collaboration between the Philippines and Malaysian tourism sectors.
Director Aleem Siddiqui M. Guiapal, Program Manager of the Halal Development and Trade Office of the Department of Trade and Industry and Ms. Rohana Dahalan, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia’s Philippine Office were also in attendance.
The GTBA participants also called on Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce on 21 February 2025 at the Embassy. The Ambassador congratulated them on the success of the Roadshow and underscored the event’s timeliness given Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairship this year. She urged the delegation to continue expanding offerings for Halal Tourism in the Philippines, which is a priority for Philippines-Malaysia bilateral relations. END
