AMBASSADOR PONCE JOINS PHILDEL AT WELCOME DINNER OF 12TH ASEAN FINANCE MINISTERS AND CENTRAL BANK GOVERNORS MEETING (AFMGM)

Kuala Lumpur, 13 April 2025 – Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce joined Department of Finance Undersecretary Joven Z. Balbosa and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier and the Philippine Delegation at the welcome dinner for the 12th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (AFMGM) on 08 April 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

In his remarks, Minister of Finance II YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan welcomed the ASEAN delegations and underscored the importance of regional cooperation to navigate the challenges posed by trade tensions and geopolitical issues. He also highlighted the important roles that finance ministers, central bank governors, and policymakers play in ensuring that policies and decisions are focused on achieving economic stability, sustainable growth, and financial inclusion.

The Ministry of Finance and the Bank Negara Malaysia hosted this year’s AFMGM under Malaysia's ASEAN Chairship. The meeting was from 07 to 10 April 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. END.
