AMBASSADOR PONCE JOINS DAWN SERVICE COMMEMORATING ANZAC DAY
KUALA LUMPUR - Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce attended the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day Dawn Service held at Tugu Negara National Monument in Kuala Lumpur on 25 April 2025. The solemn ceremony, organized by the New Zealand High Commission and the Australian High Commission, brought together members of the diplomatic corps, foreign dignitaries, and military officials.
Ambassador Ponce laid a memorial wreath in honor of the Australians and New Zealanders who served and made the ultimate sacrifice in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions.
Observed annually on 25 April in Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries, ANZAC Day marks the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli in 1915. The day honors all Australian and New Zealand soldiers who have served and sacrificed in the line of duty. This year, the ceremony commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign. END
