Ambassador Charles Jose (right) and GMMF EC & CEO Dato’ Nasharudin Mat Isa (left).2 May 2018 – The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EC & CEO) Dato’ Nasharudin Mat Isa made a courtesy call on Ambassador Charles Jose on 2 May 2018 at the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Dato’ Nasharudin was accompanied by Special Officer to EC & CEO Hamzah Kamarudin and International Relations Manager Wan Mohd Azri Wan Ja’afar.During the meeting, Dato’ Nasharudin highlighted GMMF’s engagements with the Philippines in promoting moderation in the pursuit of preventing and countering violent extremism, particularly on its partnership with the Filipino Muslim Youth Educational Tour in Malaysia since 2016.In line with Malaysia’s Resolution on Moderation adopted at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on 8 December 2017 and the UN proclamation of 2019 as International Year of Moderation, GMMF aims to enhance cooperation with the Philippines, as well as ASEAN and the international community in the promotion of moderation as an approach to counter terrorism through propagation of its key initiatives on peaceful co-existence, sustainable development, education,governance/ rule of law, conflict resolution, managing Islamophobia, and preventing and countering violent extremism. Dato’ Nasharudin also provided Ambassador Jose with GMMF publications entitled “Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers” and “The Revitalisation of An Ancient Philosophy”. -- END
