PRESS RELEASES

15 April 2019 – The month-long overseas absentee voting (OAV) exercise commenced on April 13, Saturday, at the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. At exactly 7:30am, Ambassador Charles C. Jose arrived at the Philippine Embassy to vote. He was the first to cast vote when the polls opened at 8:00 am.

Ambassador Jose encouraged the 18,334 registered voters in Malaysia to exercise their right to vote. “While the overseas absentee voting exercise will end on May 13, we ask our nationals to not wait for the deadline and immediately proceed to the Embassy to cast their votes," Ambassador Jose said.

Registered voters may cast their votes from 13 April to 13 May, from 9am to 5pm, inclusive of all weekends and holidays. In this mid-term election, registered voters will have the opportunity to elect twelve (12) senators and one (1) party-list representative.
