25 November 2023 - The Embassy welcomed H.E. Maria Angela A. Ponce, Ambassador-designate to Malaysia, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur on 21 November to assume her duties.

 

Ambassador Ponce is the first woman ambassador of the Philippines to Malaysia and is a career diplomat with over two decades of experience. She was previously assigned to the Philippine Embassy and Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris and to the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. Prior to her assignment to Malaysia, Ambassador Ponce served as Assistant Secretary for Maritime and Ocean Affairs Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs. END.
