COURTESY CALL OF THE PHILIPPINE DELEGATION TO THE 10TH CONTACT GROUP ON THE SULU AND CELEBES SEA (CGSCS) REGIONAL MEETING AND SELECTED ACTIVITIES
On 29 November 2023, the Philippine Embassy received the Philippine Delegation to the 10th Contact Group on the Sulu and Celebes Sea (CGSCS) Regional Meeting and Selected Activities.
The delegation provided a briefing on the CGSCS meeting, which is hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under the Global Maritime Crime Program (GMCP).
Representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Badan Keamanan Laut Republik Indonesia (Maritime Security Agency Republic of Indonesia (BAKAMLA)), and the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) take part in the contact group to discuss various issues in response to the emerging threats and crimes in the Sulu and Celebes Seas.
The delegation was headed by CG COMMO Marco Antonio P. Gines, Commander CG District Southwestern Mindanao, with members: CG CAPT Christopher D. Auro, Commander, CGDBARMM, CG Capt Havelino A. Salih, DCCGS for Maritime Security Law Enforcement, CG-14, CG CDR Carlos Dela Rosa Jr., Deputy Commander, CGDSWM from the Philippine Coast Guard; Mr. Kristoff Gail D. Ocampo, Principal Assistant of the Maritime and Ocean Affairs Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs; CG CDR Paolo Carlo A. Tiongson, Director, RCC Central and Ms. Maria Virginia D. Duldulao, Supervising Administrative Officer/Training Manager from the National Coast Watch Center.
They were welcomed to the Embassy by Second Secretary and Consul Leandro Luiz S. Manantan, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Johaira Wahab-Manantan, and Assistant and Attaché Janis Mahalia A. Orbita-Lantud.
