EMBASSY MARKS 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (VAW)

14 December 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur marked the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with a series of activities that included an information drive, lecture-quiz night on the Safe Spaces Act and a batik-making workshop.

The information drive was conducted through distribution of VAW-free themed notebooks and brochures to consular clients in Kuala Lumpur and Sabah.  

This year’s 18-day Campaign was held from 25 November to 12 December 2023, with the Philippine Commission on Women’s theme for 2022 to 2027, “UNITED for a VAW-free Philippines.”

Family members of Embassy personnel also participated in the batik workshop, to support local female batik artisans at the Jadi Batek Gallery in Kuala Lumpur. –END
