AMBASSADOR PONCE AFFIRMS EMBASSY’S COMMITMENT TO THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN MELAKA
Kuala Lumpur, 10 January 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur held a productive meeting with members of the Filipino Community in Melaka on 07 January 2024. The meeting is part of the Embassy’s dedicated pursuit of extending support and reaching out to the Filipino diaspora within its jurisdiction.
During the meeting, Chairperson of the group Pinoy in Melaka, Maricar Punzalan, shared insights into the diverse challenges faced by the Filipino community in the area. Discussions centered on community support and opportunities for further collaboration to enhance the overall well-being of the Filipinos in Melaka.
Ambassador-Designate H.E. Maria Angela Ponce, in partnership with Migrant Workers Office Labor Attaché, Ms. Teresa Lourdes Pimentel, and Welfare Officer Ms. Rosanna Siray, reaffirmed the commitment of the Embassy to provide necessary support and assistance to the Filipino community in Melaka. The meeting concluded with a positive exchange of ideas and a commitment for future collaborative activities.
Pinoy in Melaka is an organization dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and cultural pride, and addressing the needs and concerns of the Filipinos in Melaka. END
