Kuala Lumpur, 24 January 2024 – On January 19, Philippine company LCS Holdings Inc. and Malaysian KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd enter an agreement to jointly develop a 20 Megawatt-peak (MWp) Solar Farm Project in Ilocos Sur, with a potential to expand up to 100MWp.

The 25-year renewable energy development project combines LCS’ extensive expertise in solar energy and KAB’s prowess in engineering solutions. The energy produced from the project will be exported to Retail Electricity Suppliers or the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market in the Philippines. It will be undertaken by KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kinergy Advancement Berhad (KAB), a company specializing in energy projects with various solar, hydro, and biogas assets spanning across Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and now the Philippines.

Present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Luis “Chavit” Singson, former Governor of the Province of Ilocos Sur and Chairperson of LCS Holdings, and Dato’ Lai Keng Onn, Executive Deputy Chairman cum Group Managing Director of KAB, who both expressed their enthusiasm about the renewable energy initiative. Said project is a step towards addressing the present needs for more sustainable sources of energy in the Philippines and reducing carbon emissions, along with opportunities for job creation.

Ambassador-Designate Maria Angela Ponce and Philippine Trade and Investment Center Commercial Counsellor Norjamin delos Reyes also graced the event and congratulated both companies on the partnership agreement. END.
