AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE PONCE JOINS ASEAN LADIES CIRCLE TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Kuala Lumpur, 13 March 2024 – Ambassador-Designate Maria Angela A. Ponce, the new Patron of the ASEAN Ladies' Circle (ALC) Philippines in Kuala Lumpur, joined the ALC Patrons in a luncheon held in celebration of International Women’s Day on 08 March 2024.
ALC President and Patron of Brunei, Datin Soraya Dato Hamid, hosted the gathering, which was also attended by the ALC Patrons of Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
With 64 members, ALC Philippines holds the biggest membership in ALC.
The ALC is a non-profit organization comprised of women from the ten (10) Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It aims to promote mutual understanding and encourage cultural exchange among its members, disseminate information on ASEAN ideals and objectives, and encourage the advancement of women and children in the ASEAN region in terms of education and socio-economic standing.
