“BAGONG PILIPINAS” PRESENTED TO FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur, 14 March 2024 - Ambassador-Designate Maria Angela A. Ponce formally presented “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines), the government’s governance and leadership campaign at a Filipino Community Gathering held at the Embassy on 03 March 2024.
“Bagong Pilpinas” is the overarching theme of the Administration’s brand of governance and leadership. It calls for deep fundamental transformations in all sectors of society and government, and fosters the State’s commitment towards the attainment of comprehensive policy reforms and full economic recovery. The campaign was launched by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on 28 January 2024.
In her speech, Ambassador-Designate Maria Angela A. Ponce recalled the President’s instructions to make the protection of the rights and welfare of kababayans the Embassy’s paramount concern. She also reiterated the government's vision for labor migration to become a choice and not a way out, an aspiration aligned with broader national goals such as economic transformation, social development, inclusive growth, and food security, which are encapsulated in the President's call for "Bagong Pilipinas: One Nation, One People, Building a Better Future Together."
