Kuala Lumpur, 21 March 2024 – The Embassy of the Philippines, headed by H.E. Maria Angela Ponce, embarked on a special guided tour of the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia last 01 March 2024. Among the highlights of the tour were artifacts from Mindanao, showcasing the common Islamic heritage of the Philippines with Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries.

Museum Director Syed Mohamad Albukhary proudly showed the artifacts from Mindanao, which include an Al-Qur'an (1882 AD), a Ceremonial Betelnut Box (Mid-19th century AD), a Moro Suit of Armor, a Sword, and a Moro Helmet (19th century AD).

The tour was led by Deputy Head of Curatorial Department Ms. Rekha Verma. The Embassy was also able to view the Museum’s rare books collection, as its Scholar's Library Manager Ms. Cik Salmiah Jusoh shared insights into the historical and cultural significance of the museum’s art pieces.
