AMBASSADOR PONCE MEETS WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN PENANG
22 March 2024 – Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce was pleased to meet with the Penang Pinoy Support Association (PPSA), led by its President Lolita Selgas Pranggos, on 17 March 2024 in Georgetown, Penang. The meeting was initiated by the Embassy in line with its renewed pursuit to extend support and reach out to the Filipino diaspora within its jurisdiction.
The Ambassador and PPSA held in-depth discussions on the history and situation of Filipinos in Penang, as well as the concerns and challenges they face. They also identified opportunities for expanding and increasing the frequency of outreach missions of the Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), including through participation in the Penang Filipino community’s national day and Christmas festivities.
