EMBASSY AND FILIPINO COMMUNITY CELEBRATE NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH
Kuala Lumpur, 02 April 2024 – The Philippine Embassy welcomed the Filipino Community and celebrated National Women’s Month with a Cultural Gathering on 03 March 2024.
Attendees included Filipino Community Leaders, students, Overseas Filipino Workers, entrepreneurs, and members of the ASEAN Ladies Circle Philippines.
In her remarks, Ambassador Ponce acknowledged the great responsibility of being the first female Ambassador of the Philippines to Malaysia, emphasizing the Philippines' global recognition as one of the leading countries in women’s empowerment and gender equality.
She also highlighted the integral role of the Filipino Community and said, "You, our Filipino community, are the strongest pillar of our relations with Malaysia. And we thank you for that – for each of us is an Ambassador of our country. So always bring out the best of the Filipino”.
Attendees were treated to a musical performance by Ms. Katrina Saga, a former member of the UP Madrigal Singers and The Nightingales.
The Embassy also set up information desks on Consular services, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Additionally, registration booths for FilCom Organizations, Overseas Absentee Voting, and PSA National ID were made available for guests. END
