MWO-OWWA LAUNCHES COMPUTER LITERACY COURSE FOR OFWs

Kuala Lumpur,30 April 2024 – In line with its initiative to broaden its employment and reintegration program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), the Migrant Workers Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Association (MWO-OWWA KL) launched a computer literacy course and inaugurated an IT Laboratory housing fifteen (15) computers.
 
Philippine Ambassador H.E. Maria Angela Ponce, together with Labor Attaché Teresa Lourdes L. Pimentel, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony on 28 April 2024 to officially open the IT lab. Welfare Officer Rosanne Siray proudly welcomed the first batch of students in the lab.
 
This course will run for eight (😎 Sundays with Mr. Johne G. Altamera as trainer. The training will cover the following topics: Introduction to Computer, Basic Navigation and File Management, Computer Security, Types of Softwares, Basic Computer Literacy, Word Processing Software, Emails, Presentation, Basic Troubleshooting, Online Communications, Backup and Data Management, Introduction to Cloud Services, Artificial Intelligence, among others.
 
Mr. Johne Altamera is a member of the FILCOM organization MCGI Malaysia (Members Church of God International Malaysia). He currently holds the position of Lead 1 - Software Engineer at UST Global (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Selangor, Malaysia. END.
