13 May 2024 – The Philippine delegation to Defense Services Asia and National Security Asia (DSA & NATSEC) 2024 Exhibition and Conferences, led by DND Assistant Secretary for Plans and Programs Henry Robinson, Jr., called on H.E. Maria Angela Ponce on 8 May 2024 and provided a briefing on their participation in the conferences.

 

Co-organized by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs, DSA and NATSEC Asia are Malaysia’s showcase exhibitions on advance technologies, systems, hardware and electronic warfare. This year’s edition was held from 6–9 May 2024 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

 

Assistant Secretary Robinson was accompanied by AFP Deputy Chief of Staff LTGEN Charlton Sean Gaerlan, Philippine Airforce Chief of Air Staff MGEN Aristotle Gonzalez, Philippine Army Vice Commander BGEN Leodevic Guinid, AFP Chief of Foreign Liaison Division, OJ2, Colonel Arlino Sendaydiego, Philippine Navy Commander Leo Aspillaga. and PCG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr.

 

Ambassador Ponce commended the delegation’s efforts in advancing national defense objectives. The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at enhancing the Philippines’ defense capabilities and fostering strategic partnerships to safeguard national and regional security.

 

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary for Peace and Order Oscar Valenzuela also attended DSA and NATSEC, representing DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos. Undersecretary Valenzuela also called on Ambassador Ponce on 9 May 2024 to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at combating human trafficking and enhancing national security. END.
