26 June 2024 - The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is pleased to announce the arrival of Mr. Roussel R. Reyes, its new Minister and Consul General.

Consul General Reyes arrived on 17 June 2024. 

He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws degree. 

He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in 2004 and his previous foreign assignments were as Third Secretary and Vice Consul, and later as Second Secretary and Consul, at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2006-2013) and as First Secretary and Consul General, and then as Minister and Consul General, at the Philippine Embassy in Doha, Qatar, (2016-2022).

He also served as Acting Director at the DFA Office of Legal Affairs (2005-2006) and as Passport Director at the DFA Office of Consular Affairs (2013-2016).

In 2012, he was conferred the Outstanding Diplomat-Gawad Mabini Award by the DFA.

Before assuming his role in Kuala Lumpur, he was the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Executive Director of the DFA’s Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs.

He is married to Mary Michelle C. Reyes and they have three daughters. END
