Kuala Lumpur, 03 July 2024 – The Philippine Embassy, led by Consul General Roussel Reyes, supported the art workshop "ART UP! Magnifying our Filipino Heritage” by renowned Filipino artist Anna Karina Jardin. The event was held on 29 June 2024 at the Dorsett Hartamas Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The workshop provided a unique opportunity for both children and adults to delve into the fundamentals of traditional and non-traditional Filipino art to learn more about the Philippines and cultivate a strong sense of national identity.
Each participant crafted an artwork inspired by the national bird of the Philippines, the Philippine Eagle, using old newspapers and magazines. This hands-on activity not only encouraged artistic expression, but also promoted environmental awareness through the use of recycled materials.
Consul General Roussel Reyes served as a judge for the art activity, further emphasizing the Embassy's continued efforts to foster artistic talent and cultural appreciation among all ages. END
