EMBASSY CONGRATULATES 115 NEW GRADUATES OF MWO-OWWA KL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM

The Philippine Embassy congratulated 115 new graduates of the skills training program of the Migrant Workers Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration KL, at a culmination ceremony held at Concorde Hotel on 14 July 2024.
The graduates successfully completed courses in Baking, Ballroom Dancing, Basic Adobe and Photoshop, Basic Bahasa Malay Language, Beauty Care, Computer Literacy, Cooking, Dressmaking, Guitar Lessons, Photography, Soap and Perfume Making, and Zumba. As part of their culmination ceremony, they showcased the talent and skills they developed through the said courses.
Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce encouraged the Filipino OFW community to continue learning and exploring new things to gain knowledge, develop skills, and make exciting discoveries. She thanked MWO-OWWA KL, under the leadership of Labor Attaché Teresa Pimentel and Welfare Officer Rosanna Siray for their continued dedication in conducting the training program.
She also recognized the tireless efforts of the trainors, namely Mr. Belteshazzar Diaz Cafe for Bahasa language; Ms Marcela M. Caboylo for dressmaking; Ms. Salve H. Esta for guitar lessons; Ms. Eden A. Sieton for soap and jewelry-making; Mr. Julius Gonzales Elisan for photography and Adobe Photoshop; Ms. Priscela L. Yap for baking; Mr. Johne G. Altamera for computer literacy; Ms. Elyn G. Pepino for ballroom dancing; Ms. Mary Joy L. Soria for massage therapy; Mr. Gino P. Tadeo for beauty care; Ms. Lorlyn B. Belmis for zumba; and Welfare Attaché Rosanna G. Siray for cooking.
Newly-arrived Consul General Roussel Reyes, Labor Attache Pimentel and Welfare Officer Siray led the awarding of Certificates of Completion and encouraged attendees to continue supporting the training center of MWO-OWWA KL and help spread the word regarding the free skills training program. to our fellow Filipinos in Malaysia.
Vice Consul Vanessa Orbigo, Vice Consul Patricia Anne Laggui, Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Joel Lobitaña, Commercial Counselor Norjamin Delos Reyes and Finance Officer McRaph Marqueses were also in attendance to show the Embassy’s full support. ASEANAPOL Executive Director PCOL David Martinez Vinluan also graced the event to personally congratulate and celebrate with the graduates.
