FILIPINO FASHION DESIGNERS DAZZLE AT PRECIOUS OF MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL FASHION WEEK 2024

Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2024 – Filipino fashion designers proudly presented their works on the runway at the recently concluded Precious of Malaysia International Cultural Fashion Week 2024, held from 02 to 04 August 2024 at Menara Affin TRX. The event, which showcased the talents of 13 fashion designers from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia, celebrated cultural heritage and creative excellence. Organized by FM Group Malaysia, its goal was to elevate classic fashion in Malaysia .
 
Two Filipino designers, Mr. Klevin Bartolaba from Agusan Del Norte and Mr. Ryan Salazar Lopez from Batan, Aklan, were recognized for their outstanding designs. Mr. Bartolaba received the "Most Talented Designer" award for his five-piece collection featuring intricate Manobo embroidery. Meanwhile, Mr. Lopez won the "Uplifting Traditional Design" award for his creations inspired by the scarecrows that he ussed to see during his childhood.
 
Cultural Officer Jesher Micha Carolino and Public Diplomacy Officer Aina Camille Abrencillo from the Philippine Embassy were present at the event, underscoring the Embassy's commitment to supporting and promoting Filipino talent on the international stage.
 
The Philippine delegation, led by esteemed designer Mr. Dong Omaga-Diaz, paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy on 02 August 2024 and was warmly received by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Patricia Laggui, who engaged in a meaningful discussion with the designers about the inspirations behind their creations. Vice Consul Laggui affirmed the Embassy's unwavering support for their future endeavors. END
