18 August 2024 - Four (4) students from Sapang Palay National High School in Bulacan tasted victory at the Wu Kwon Taekwondo Championship 2024 that was held on 10 and 11 August 2024 in Johor, Malaysia, winning two (2) golds, four (4) silvers, and two (2) bronzes.

 

The student athletes are red belter John Paul Nizami and green belters Naomi Nizami, Chelsea Nizami, and Jayvee Isidro. They scored wins in a tournament that had participants from other countries such as China, Hongkong, India, Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore.

 

The young athletes, along with their parents and grandparents, were congratulated by Consul General Roussel Reyes for their accomplishments during their courtesy call with their parents and grandparents at the Embassy on 13 August 2024. ConGen Reyes also expressed confidence that their victory will fuel their drive for excellence and inspire pride, especially among their fellow young Filipino athletes. END.
