05 October 2024 - On 30 September 2024, Ms. Mary Ann O. Lacson, IT Officer of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Ms. Maisarah U. Mantil, IT Staff of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), successfully completed the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) 2024 on “Networking Technology with IOT Applications in Digital Economy” at the Japan-Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI) Auditorium in Penang, Malaysia.
The course tackled Malaysia’s experiences and best practices in networking technology and Internet of Things (IoT) applications within the digital economy, as well as security measures, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The primary objective of this program was to enhance the technical knowledge and skills of stakeholders in the digital economy.
The 2024 Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme – Third Country Training Programme (MTCP-TCTP) involves collaboration among three agencies: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japan-Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI). The program also included four participants from Indonesia, three from Timor-Leste, and one from Nepal.
Ybhg. Datulk Rospiagos Bin Tah, Director General of Manpower Department, Mr. Inagaki Yoshitaka, Senior Representative of JICA Malaysia Office, and Dr. Azmir Bin Mohd Yunus, Director of JMTI, graced the closing ceremony. The event was also attended by various diplomats.
The Philippine Embassy, represented by Vice Consul Vanessa R. Orbigo and Attaché Aina Abrencillo, congratulated the participants for successfully completing the program. END
