6 October 2024 – H.E. Ambassador Maria Angela A. Ponce paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 3 October 2024.

Both sides discussed areas of mutual interest and the strengthening of ties between the Philippines and Malaysia, especially in light of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Ponce reaffirmed the Philippines’ support for Malaysia's upcoming Chairship of ASEAN in 2025, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and continuity, as the Philippines will assume the Chairship in 2026. END.
