CONSUL GENERAL ROUSSEL REYES PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO CHIEF INSPECTOR JOESAUVACE IMPIN JELUING OF BINTULU CORRECTIONAL CENTRE

[Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia - 25 October 2024] – As part of the Consular Mission in Bintulu, Sarawak by the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Consul General Roussel Reyes paid a courtesy call on officials of the Bintulu Correctional Centre on 07 October 2024. The officials included Deputy Superintendent Thompson Ridot and other representatives of Bintulu Correctional Centre.

During the visit, both parties discussed issues concerning the welfare of Filipinos detained at the prison. Consul General Reyes appreciated the swift and effective actions taken by Bintulu Correctional Centre to safeguard the welfare of the Filipinos and also looked forward to further strengthening the coordination between the Embassy and the facility.

Embassy officials also reviewed the cases of Filipinos detained at the correctional facility and were also able to ascertain their condition and well-being. END.
