24 November 2024 – The Migrant Workers Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA KL) in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), conducted the 1st Overseas Assessment Program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Malaysia on 10 November 2024 in MWO-OWWA Training Center, Taman Maluri.
The assessment included three programs - Cookery, Bread and Pastry Production, and Dressmaking. These training programs, provided free of charge to the participants, aim to help OFWs improve their skills and create new job or entrepreneurial opportunities. A total of 43 trainees participated in the assessment, 39 were successfully certified and granted National Competency (NC) certificates, with three of them passing both the Cookery and Bread and Pastry Production assessments.
The Philippine Embassy, together with MWO-OWWA KL, congratulates all the participants who passed the assessment. The Embassy and MWO-OWWA KL remain committed to supporting the skill development and empowerment of Overseas Filipinos in Malaysia. END
