Kuala Lumpur, 29 November 2024 - Following their successful Handog concert for the 60th Anniversary of Philippines-Malaysia relations, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, also known as Madz, conducted a chorale singing workshop on 13 November 2024 at the Philippine Embassy’s Sentro Rizal for the Filipino community.
The interactive 2-hour workshop led by Madz choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, covered various aspects of chorale singing, including warm-up exercises and breathing techniques, harmonization, proper word pronunciation, diction, and singing in unison. Participants were also reminded of the importance of posture and maintaining a healthy body for effective singing.
Consul General Roussel Reyes congratulated the Madrigal Singers for their successful performance and thanked them for leading the workshop for the Filipino community. Reinforcing the meaning and value of singing together, the event ended with a performance of Greg Gilpin’s “Why We Sing.”
