03 December 2024, Kuala Lumpur – In line with the observance of Government Employees Week, from 01-07 December 2024, Consul General Roussel Reyes read the message of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the Philippine Government Employees Association (PGEA), at the Embassy Grounds on 02 December 2024.

In his message, President Marcos, Jr., recognized the important role of government employees in nation-building and thanked them for their dedication to public service. He extended his congratulations to both the Philippine Government Employees Association (PGEA), the National Convention of Government Employees Working Council (NCGEWC) and the National Convention of Government Employees on their respective milestones—the 79th anniversary of the PGEA and the 28th anniversary of the NCGEWC.

President Marcos, Jr., emphasized that the public sector workforce is the backbone of the government, providing essential services and expertise to secure the well-being of the people and advance society. The role of the public sector, he noted, is crucial in fostering an effective bureaucracy. The President also affirmed that these milestones are a testament to their dedication to championing the rights and welfare of the public sector across the nation. He called on them to continue working toward building lasting partnerships, upholding the rights of government workers, and contributing to the timely attainment of Bagong Pilipinas.

The Philippine Embassy stands in solidarity with government employees in the Philippines and abroad, supporting efforts that promote their welfare and professional growth. END
