11 December 2024 - The Philippine Embassy, headed by Ambassador Maria Angela A. Ponce, attended the 42nd Anniversary and Christmas party of the Malaysian-Filipino (MALFIL) Club at the Pearl Kuala Lumpur on 01 December 2024.

Ambassador Ponce was welcomed by Ms. Bridget Jeyaraj, MALFIL President, and Puan Hajah Jamilah Abdullah, MALFIL Founder and Adviser, and other MALFIL officers.

In her remarks, Ambassador Ponce shared that as the Philippines and Malaysia celebrates the 60th Anniversary of their diplomatic relations, the Philippines has always emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Ponce also lauded the efforts of the MALFIL club to promote cultural understanding between the Philippines and Malaysia.

Registered in December 1982, MALFIL Club aims to assist newly-arrived Filipinos in Malaysia in adapting to the Malaysian way of life, assist in the promotion of Malaysian and Philippine cultural exchanges, and undertake charitable and social activities for the benefit of Malaysians and Filipinos alike. MALFIL Club now has 60 members. END
