Kuala Lumpur, 11 December 2024 – The Philippine Embassy, led by Consul General Roussel Reyes attended the opening ceremony of “Brushes of Cultures: A Filipino-Malaysian Art Experience” on 07 December 2024 at Momo’s Kuala Lumpur. The event, which aimed to foster cultural exchange and appreciation through art, brought together 14 Filipino and 6 Malaysian artists to celebrate cultural diversity and artistic collaboration.

In his speech, Consul General Reyes highlighted the significance of the event as this year is the 60th anniversary of Philippines-Malaysia diplomatic relations, emphasizing the enduring friendship and shared creativity between the two nations. He commended the 14 Filipino artists for bringing the rich culture and stories of the Philippines to Malaysia, and underscored the power of art to bring people together, foster understanding, and celebrate diversity.

The two-day event, organized by Art Show Philippines founder Mr. Frederick Epistola and Momo’s Kuala Lumpur, was held from 07 to 08 December 2024. It featured a range of activities, including workshops on Sining Sawali and Mae Magical Letters, where participants explored innovative artistic techniques that showcased creativity and collaboration. Additionally, a contemporary art and merchandise exhibit highlighted themes of diversity and cultural exchange, with each piece sharing unique stories. END
