Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 12 December 2024 – Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce met with the Filipino community fitness group Active Pinoys in Malaysia at the Sentro Rizal, Kuala Lumpur to discuss the group’s activities and possible avenues of collaboration.

Ambassador Ponce, who was joined by Consul General Roussel Reyes and Vice Consul Kirstoff Gail Ocampo in the meeting, reaffirmed the Embassy's commitment to supporting the Filipino community and initiatives that strengthen community bonds.

Active Pinoys in Malaysia Team Captain Michael Morales shared the various events that the group has joined and hosted in the past. Ambassador Ponce emphasized the importance of these activities in strengthening connections with the Filipino community in Malaysia to promote camaraderie, unity, and collective success. She encouraged Active Pinoys in Malaysia to coordinate with the Embassy to facilitate better collaboration in future activities and enhanced support for their initiatives.

Furthermore, Ambassador Ponce invited the group to share details of any upcoming events, emphasizing the Embassy’s willingness to participate and assist in spreading the word to the wider Filipino community in Malaysia to foster greater engagement and participation.

Founded in 2017, Active Pinoys in Malaysia contribute in promoting health and wellness among Filipinos living in Malaysia. END
