AMBASSADOR PONCE ATTENDS MALAYSIA’S OPENING OF THE LEGAL YEAR 2025

11 January 2025 – Ambassador Maria Angela A. Ponce attended the Opening of the Legal Year 2025 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on 8 January 2025.

The annual event, which was hosted by the Federal Court of Malaysia, showcased key milestones in the rule of law over the past year and outlined the plans and objectives of the country’s legal profession for 2025.

The Right Honourable Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, the Attorney General, YBhg Dato’ Mohd Dusuki bin Mokhtar, and the President of the Malaysian Bar, Mohamad Ezri Abdul Wahab, also delivered remarks to commemorate the event.

Ambassador Ponce expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet with The Right Honourable Chief Justice and reaffirmed the Embassy’s support for the continued advancement of Malaysia’s legal framework.

Ambassador Ponce also met representatives from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Atty. Minerva R. Magtanao-Taguinod, Governor for Northern Luzon Region, and Atty. Annalyn Sherry F. Hibo-Gamboa, Governor for Bicolandia, at the event. END
