SECRETARY FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS ENRIQUE A. MANALO LEADS PHILIPPINE DELEGATION TO ASEAN FOREIGN MINISTERS RETREAT

20 January 2025 – Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo led the Philippine delegation to the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Retreat (AMM Retreat) held on 18 and 19 January 2025 in Langkawi, Malaysia.

The AMM Retreat was preceded by the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) on 18 January 2025 in Langkawi, with DFA Undersecretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro as Philippine SOM Leader.

The AMM Retreat is the first meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers under Malaysia’s 2025 Chairship. Under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” the Foreign Ministers discussed ASEAN’s priorities including, regional and global issues.

Secretary Manalo reiterated the Philippines’ full support for Malaysia’s leadership as Chair of ASEAN for 2025. END.
