THE PHILIPPINES CO-CHAIRS THE HIGH-LEVEL TASK FORCE ON THE ASEAN COMMUNITY’S POST-2025 VISION WITH MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur, 30 January 2025 - The Philippines, together with Malaysia, co-chaired the 20th Meeting of the High-Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV) held from 21 to 23 January 2025 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The Philippine delegation was led by Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Philippine Eminent Person to the HLTF-ACV, and Ambassador Luis T. Cruz, Philippine High-Level Representative to the HLTF-ACV. Meanwhile, the Malaysian delegation was headed by H.E. Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya, Acting Eminent Person to the HLTF-ACV, and H.E. Dato’ Mohd Suhaimi Jaafar, Malaysia’s High-Level Representative to the HLTF-ACV.
The meeting continued the drafting session for the strategic plans of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. An interface session was also held with the Chair of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI), the Co-Chairs of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Development of the ASCC Post-2025 Strategic Plan, and the Chair of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC).
The 20th HLTF-ACV meeting was attended by Eminent Persons, High-Level Representatives and officials from ASEAN Member States, along with delegates from Timor-Leste, the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General for APSC, and other officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.
The next HLTF-ACV Meeting will be hosted by the Philippines in Manila this February. END
