MWO-OWWA KL LAUNCHES FREE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR OFWs
KUALA LUMPUR - The Migrant Workers Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA KL) launched its free skills training programs for OFWs on 02 February 2025 at the MWO-OWWA KL center located at 93 Jalan Perkasa, Taman Maluri, KL. A total of 163 participants attended the training.
This program, which marks the beginning of a series of training sessions scheduled to run until March 2025, aims equip OFWs with valuable skills that can be utilized upon their return to the Philippines.
In her opening remarks, Welfare Officer Rosanna Siray underscored the significance of these training initiatives as a component of the reintegration program for OFWs. She emphasized that the goal is to provide OFWs with essential skills and knowledge that they can effectively apply in their future endeavors back home. She also urged participants to share this opportunity with others so that more individuals can benefit from these free training programs.
Moreover, Welfare Officer Siray encouraged participants to perform at their best during the training, as a TESDA assessment will follow. With the extension of the validity of TESDA's accreditation to five years, participants have a valuable opportunity to enhance their qualifications and improve their employment prospects.
The free training programs offered by MWO-OWWA KL include Basic Barista, Basic Bahasa Language, Beauty Care & Hair Culture, Basic Computer Literacy, Basic Microsoft Office, Basic Household First Aid and Dance Lessons. END
