SOUTHERN PHILIPPINE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY CONDUCTS BENCHMARKING ACTIVITY ON HALAL PRODUCTION OF FEEDS

Kuala Lumpur, 03 March 2025 –Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce welcomed Abdulghani “Gerry” A. Salapuddin, Administrator and CEO of the Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) and his delegation on 21 February 2025 at the Philippine Embassy.

The SPDA delegation was in Kuala Lumpur to conduct a benchmarking activity on Halal Production of Feeds in Malaysia. They met with Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Halal Development Cooperation Berhad, and the University Malaya Halal Research Centre. The goal of the SPDA is to learn from the best practices of these institutions for the implementation of their Halal Feeds production and promote Halal Feeds in Mindanao.

Ambassador Ponce welcomed SPDA’s initiative, noting that cooperation in halal production is a priority of the government in its relations with Malaysia. She reaffirmed the Embassy's support of Philippine government initiatives to strengthen the country's halal industry. END
