EMBASSY CONDUCTS TOWN HALL MEETING, CONSULAR OUTREACH ACTIVITY AND SERVICE MISSION WITH MWO-OWWA KL, LANDBANK AND PHILHEALTH
JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA - The Philippine Embassy, in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration KL (MWO-OWWA KL), Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), successfully held a Town Hall Meeting, Consular Outreach Activity and Service Mission on 25-26 April 2025 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
During the two-day activity, the Embassy personnel provided consular services to members of the Filipino community including passport processing, birth registration, and notarization of documents. Consul General Roussel Reyes also led a Town Hall Meeting with the Filipino community and provided important information on online voting for overseas Filipino voters. He also emphasized the upcoming deadlines - 07 May 2025 for pre-voting enrollment and 12 May 2025 for online voting.
Labor Attaché Jocelyn B. Ortega, along with the MWO-OWWA KL team, briefed attendees on the agency’s functions and responsibilities, such as the renewal of OWWA membership and accessing available services.
Representatives from LandBank, led by Ms. Nanette Lati, presented financial literacy materials and introduced the “GoBayani” program, a digital deposit account designed for overseas Filipinos. Additionally, PhilHealth Vice President Walter Bacareza and his team shared updates on the improved benefits offered by the agency that are also available to Filipinos abroad.END
