BANGSAMORO ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE DELEGATION VISITS EMBASS
Kuala Lumpur, 03 May 2025 – A delegation from the Bangsamoro Attorney General’s Office (BAGO), led by the newly appointed Bangsamoro Attorney General, Atty. Bantuas M. Lucman, paid a courtesy call on the Embassy on 30 April 2025. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) of Universiti Malaya.
Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce received the delegation and congratulated Atty. Lucman on his recent appointment. She also commended the delegation on the completion of their three-day study program entitled “Program BAGO 2025: Public Policy and Syariah Law,” co-organized by INPUMA and BAGO, which was held from 28 to 30 April 2025.
During the call, Attorney General Lucman shared that the program aimed to enhance their understanding of Malaysian public policy and the harmonization of Syariah and civil laws. The program featured a series of lectures and engagements with key Malaysian institutions, including the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), the Attorney General’s Chambers, the Federal Court, the Department of Syariah Judiciary Malaysia, and the Federal Territory Syariah Court in Kuala Lumpur.
Ambassador Ponce expressed her appreciation for the visit, noting that the program’s objectives were timely and aligned with the ongoing efforts to strengthen legal and governance institutions in the Bangsamoro region. END
