EMBASSY CONCLUDES CANVASSING FOR NATIONAL ELECTIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 May 2025 - The Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) of the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, chaired by Ambassador Maria Angela Ponce, concluded the canvassing of votes for the 2025 National Elections on 13 May 2025 at 12:26 a.m.

2747 voters cast their votes, out of the 9669 registered voters in Malaysia, resulting in a voter turnout of 28.41 %.

Official canvassing began at 7:16pm, after the close of internet voting and the transmission of election returns by the Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI).

The canvassing was witnessed by accredited poll watchers, members of the Filipino community (FILCOM), and Embassy personnel, ensuring transparency and credibility of the electoral process.

In accordance with COMELEC Resolution No. 10181, the Certificate of Canvass is posted at the Embassy’s Consular Section.

The SBOC’s members included Consul General Roussel Reyes and Vice Consul Patricia Anne Laggui. The SBEI was led by Vice Consul Kara Denise Frayco and the Special Ballot Reception and Custody Group (SBRCG) was led by Vice Consul Kirstoff Ocampo. END
