Kuala Lumpur, 20 May 2025 – The Philippine Embassy showcased Philippine culture and talent in the National Youth Day 2025 festivities held on 17–18 May at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC). The event was organized by the Federal Territories Youth Council in collaboration with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).
Filipino-Malaysian singer Mr. Alan Roy Anthony, 26, performed “Minsan ang Minahal ay Ako” by Celeste Legaspi and “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika” by Hajji Alejandro at the opening and closing ceremonies, respectively, as a showcase of Filipino musical talent.
Filipino artisans also joined with a Philippine booth that featured handmade crafts such as barongs, Filipiniana items, soaps, and fans, along with pastries like the pan de sal and ensaymada, giving visitors a glimpse, and a taste, of Filipino culture.
Celebrated annually since 1964, National Youth Day highlights the vital role of youth in shaping the nation's future. The Embassy’s participation was facilitated by Cultural Attache Jesher Micah Carolino and MWO-OWWA KL Welfare Officer Rosanna Siray. -- END
